Why babies need it
Infant skin is thinner, with a still-developing barrier —it dries faster, especially after warm baths and in AC rooms. A light lotion within a few minutes of bathing locks moisture in; that timing (“pat dry, then apply”) does half the work.
Reading the label
pH-balanced, paraben-free, minimal fragrance. Fewer ingredients is genuinely better here —every addition is another potential irritant on skin this reactive. Avoid strong perfume and colourants entirely.
Climate adjustments
In humid weather a light lotion suffices; genuinely dry or winter conditions may need a richer cream on cheeks, arms and legs. Watch the skin, not the calendar —flaky patches mean richer, sweaty folds mean lighter.
