Buying guide

Buy by stage within the year

At 3–6 months (62–68 cm), babies mostly recline: soft, thin, crease-forgiving frocks with snap-crotch or bodysuit-attached designs work best. At 6–12 months (68–80 cm), sitting and crawling arrive: slightly sturdier cotton, hems that don’t trap knees mid-crawl, and nothing hard on the front to press against during tummy time.

Non-negotiables at every stage

Full cotton lining under any decorative layer, flat inner seams, wide-stretch or full-open necklines, and change access that doesn’t require full undressing.

Daily vs occasion mix

Infants need mostly daily frocks (5–6) and only one or two occasion pieces per size —growth eats wardrobes fast at this age, so weight spending toward what’s worn weekly.

FIt test

Armholes free through a full arm-wave, no waist compression over the nappy, hemclear of crawling knees. Pass all three and the frock earns its keep.
