Continue shoppingA pram carries your baby through roughly three years of outings, so the essentials are non-negotiable: a 5-point harness, multi-position recline (flat for newborns), reliable brakes and a fold compact enough for your home and car. Popees prams are chosen for exactly that checklist.
Newborn or toddler?
Newborns need a near-flat recline —their airways require it. If you’re buying from birth, confirm full recline; if your baby already sits well (6 months+), a standard multi-recline stroller works.
The Indian-roads test
Larger wheels and decent suspension handle broken pavements and apartment ramps far better than tiny mall-stroller wheels. Check thebrake locks both rear wheels and engages with a footpress, not a fiddly lever.
Live with the fold
You will fold this pram thousands of times, often one-handed with a baby on your hip. Test the fold mechanism, the folded size against your car boot, and the weight against your building’s lift-or-stairs reality.
Harness and canopy
5-point harness always buckled, even for “just two minutes” —most pram injuries are falls from unharnessed seats. A wide canopy plus the recline handles sun and naps on the move.
From what age can a baby use a pram?
From birth if the pram reclines flat or takes a carrycot. Upright stroller seats should wait until the baby sits steadily, around 6 months.
What safety features matter most in a pram?
A 5-point harness, linked rear-wheel brakes, a stable wide base and certified frame locks that can’t fold accidentally with the child inside.
Which pram works best on Indian roads?
One with larger wheels, suspension and sturdy frame geometry. Small hard wheels rattle babies awake on anything rougher than a mall floor.
Until what age do children use prams?
Typically up to 3 years or ~15 kg, though many toddlers prefer walking by 2.5. Check your model’s weight limit.
Our pram checklist is fixed: 5-point harness, dual-wheel brakes, tested fold-locks —no model enters the range without all three.
