Layer it right
The working setup is: mattress → rubber sheet → soft cotton sheet on top. Baby skin should rest on breathable cotton, not directly on the waterproof surface —that combination prevents both leaks and sweat rashes.
Size to the sleep spot
Small sheets protect a nappy-change zone; cot-size and bed-size sheets protect the whole sleeping area, which matters more once babies roll. If the baby sleeps in the family bed, buy the larger size —leaks don’t respect boundaries.
