Baby wardrobes are compact storage units designed to keep infant clothing, blankets and essentials
organised and hygienic. Popees wardrobes are sized for nurseries and small rooms,
with baby-safe materials and shelves shallow enough that nothing gets lost at the back.
Size before style
Measure your available wall space first; a 2-door unit suits most nurseries, while a 3-door
works if you’re storing bedding and toys along with clothes. Babies outgrow clothes every 3–4 months,
so prioritiseshelf count over hanging space —folded stacks by size (0–3m, 3–6m, 6–12m) are far more
practical than hangers in the first year.
Material and safety
Look for smooth, rounded edges, non-toxic finishes and doors that close without snapping —anything at toddler height
will eventually be opened by a toddler. Plastic-panel wardrobes are lighter and moisture-resistant (useful in Kerala’s humidity);
engineered-wood units are sturdier but should be anchored to the wall to prevent tipping.
Practical extras
A lower open shelf for daily-use items saves you bending during night changes, and washable interiors matter more than you’d
expect —spills and talc happen.
What size wardrobe is best for a baby’s room?
A compact 2-door wardrobe (around 4–5 ft tall) covers a baby’s first two years comfortably. Choose more shelves over hanging rods, since infant clothing is stored folded.
Are plastic wardrobes safe for baby rooms?
Yes, if made from non-toxic, food-grade or BPA-free plastic with rounded edges. They also resist humidity and are easier to wipe clean than wooden units.
Should a baby wardrobe be anchored to the wall?
Any freestanding unit in a child’s room should be wall-anchored. Toddlers pull and climb on doors, and anchoring removes the tipping risk entirely.
How do I organise a baby wardrobe?
Sort by size, not season —0–3, 3–6, 6–12 months. Keep current sizes at eye level, the next size up on top, and daily essentials on the lowest shelf.
Our storage range is selected around how Indian nurseries are actually laid out —compact footprints, humidity-tolerant materials.
